Last weekend I shot my first wedding of 2018 and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of it. Jake and Lara organised such an amazing day and I was so happy to be asked t be part of it.
The morning of the Saturday I checked my phone to see if the gods of weather would be on our side. Alas, upon checking I saw the familiar rain symbol and thought I was going to have my work cut out for me.
The drive to Hereford took about an hour and with the low clouds refusing to break I began to accept that the spring wedding Jake and Lara were hoping for was beginning to slip away. Upon arriving at Lara’s Dad’s house I was greeted by the inevitable pitter-patter of rain so I quickly grabbed my camera bag and darted inside.
The ceremony was at a beautiful old church near their house full of tall stained glass windows. It was very traditional and went as perfectly as it could have. Once the ceremony had finished the rain started to become more intermittent so I quickly grabbed Jake and Lara and we rushed to get some photos of just the two of them. From that moment we had near enough constant sunshine for the rest of the day! We headed back to the enormous marquee in Lara’s Dads garden for the formal group shots and to enjoy the rest of the day. The food was amazing, the speeches were great and a fantastic time was had by all.
Here are some of my favorite images from the day.
